Laguna Gold is an exploration and mining company focused on precious and base metals in Chile. It has a 100% interest in all assets in the portfolio.

Laguna Gold has a range of exciting exploration projects from greenfields to brownfields in southern Chile. Laguna Gold has recently announced the acquisition of the polymetallic el Toqui mine which is strategically located to all of Laguna Gold’s projects. El Toqui produces zinc, lead, gold and silver and has a large area for exploration which complements the current portfolio. El Toqui will become a centralised production facility for potential new commercial discoveries.

Exploration

Laguna Gold has the following six main exploration projects across five sites in Chile.

Toqui: Excellent brownfields exploration with targets in the mine complex and regional, all within trucking distance of the Toqui mine.

Santa Teresa: With two veins (ST3 and ST1) part of a 7km mineralised fault structure, Santa Teresa has an excellent tenement situation for fast tracking any potential discovery into development. The Santa Teresa exploration site is situated close to Toqui and resource drilling has commenced.

Katterfeld: With no exploration for 30 years, the Katterfeld exploration site has significant potential with:

  • Very large mineralised corridor over 10km long and up to 6km wide
  • Numerous large epithermal veins with anomalous gold and
  • Close to the Toqui zinc - gold - silver - lead operating plant

Terrazas: A new, high grade, epithermal gold area in the extension of the Deseado Massif with:

  • Discovery hole DDH 6, 2.6m @ 48.2 g/t gold
  • Mineralised structure more than 1km long
  • Similar to the Cerro Bayo mine close by
  • Potentially within trucking distance to Toqui

Tapera Properties, Cerro de Oro, Joshua (100%): is at early stage, large alteration systems with Au anomalies.

Mining

The El Toqui mine is located in Chile's Region XI 1 and is 350km south of Santiago, Chile and 120km northeast of the regional capital Coyhaique. The region has a well known history of polymetallic mineralization and is approximately 630m above sea level. The El Toqui mine has been in operation since 1983 and has a long history of reserve replacement and promising exploration potential.

Production 2016:

  • Zinc (Zn): 33,200t
  • Lead (Pb): 500t
  • Silver (Ag): 214,000 oz
  • Gold (Au): 111,800oz
